Yamaha Reaches $2M Deal In WaveRunner Crash

Law360, New York (June 1, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd. has agreed to pay a $2 million settlement to the family of a man killed when his WaveRunner watercraft crashed while he was on vacation in the Bahamas.

Attorneys for the plaintiffs on Friday asked Judge Ramon E. Reyes Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York to approve the settlement, which includes just over $1 million in attorneys' fees and expenses. According to the motion, the settlement was reached in April.
