Fast Food Chain Sued By Undocumented Employees

Law360, New York (September 19, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- About 100 undocumented workers who were fired last week sued a Texas fast food eatery owned by Wendy’s International Inc. and its former law firm for ruining their chance at gaining legal status.

According to the lawsuit, Cafe Express missed an April 2001 deadline to submit paperwork under the Legal Immigration and Family Equity Act, a one-time deal that would have given the employees permanent residency.
