E.U. Fines Copper Cartel €314M

Law360 (September 20, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In an ongoing effort to stamp out anti-competitive behavior in the copper industry, the European Commission said Wednesday that it has fined 30 companies €314.7 million for participating in a copper fitting cartel—the fifth largest fine the Commission has imposed on a cartel.

The companies belong to 11 groups, including Aalberts Industries, IMI plc, Delta, Advanced Fluid Connections plc, Legris, Frabo, Mueller Industries Inc., Tomkins plc, Flowflex Components Ltd., Viegener and Sanha Kaimer GmbH & Co.
