Force Chrysler To Comply With Lemon Laws: Groups

Law360 (June 2, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Several national consumer groups have filed an appeal in Chrysler LLC's bankruptcy case, seeking an order requiring the automaker to honor every facet of every state lemon law.

The Center for Auto Safety, Consumer Action, Consumers for Auto Reliability and Safety, National Association of Consumer Advocates and Public Citizen filed the appeal Tuesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, challenging exemptions to lemon laws approved by the court as part of Chrysler’s $2 billion sale to Fiat SpA.
