9th Circ. Affirms Win For Adobe In Copyright Suit

Law360, New York (June 3, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has upheld a lower court's ruling that Adobe Systems Inc.'s InDesign desktop publishing program does not infringe the copyright on another company’s typesetting software.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on Monday found that Judge Ronald Whyte of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California did not err in 2007 when he granted summary judgment in Adobe's favor in a suit brought by Brookhaven Typesetting Services Inc.
