U.S. Software Rivals Denounce Microsoft’s Vista

Law360, New York (September 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two U.S. software manufacturers are calling for European Union regulators to rein in Microsoft Corp. for preinstalled features in its upcoming Windows Vista package.

However, E.U. authorities will not be able to make a move until Microsoft launches Vista, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.

Microsoft has planned to release Vista to corporate customers in Europe in November.

But two California software makers—Adobe Systems Inc., based in San Jose, and Symantec Corp., based in Cupertino—aim to interfere with its release, according to the Journal....
