Court To Reconsider Whistleblower Claims

Law360 (September 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has partly affirmed a lower court’s decision to toss the retaliatory claims of a former employee at a General Electric health-care subsidiary, but has sent claims that the company violated the whistleblower-protection provision of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act back to district court.

Dr. Mauricio Leon, former director of medical informatics at IDX Systems Corp.—a subsidiary of GE Healthcare that provides software and technology services to health care providers—was hired by the company in 2001.
