Calif. Jury Raises Aera Pollution Payout To $8.5M

Law360, New York (June 8, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A California jury has increased damages against Aera Energy LLC — accused of polluting neighbor Starrh and Starrh Cotton Growers’ groundwater — by $1.5 million to $8.5 million, and an attorney for the plaintiff has vowed to seek an even heavier penalty for the oil and gas producer.
