Kinder Morgan Insurer Wants To Arbitrate Leak Spat

Law360, New York (June 8, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Bermuda insurer has moved to toss a suit with a subsidiary of Kinder Morgan Inc., claiming that a multimillion-dollar dispute over coverage for a pipeline leak and subsequent site remediation should be settled through arbitration because a United Nations treaty binds the companies.

Associated Gas and Electric Insurance Services Ltd. filed a motion to dismiss the suit and compel arbitration with Plantation Pipe Line Co. on Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
