Georgia-Pacific To Pay $10M For Superfund Cleanup

Law360, New York (June 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Georgia-Pacific LLC has agreed to pay $10 million to fund a new cleanup phase for a Superfund site along the Kalamazoo River in southwestern Michigan, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

On the heels of a separate settlement with the government valued at $13 million, the Atlanta-based paper company has signed an administrative consent order requiring it to kick in additional funds to remove 12,000 cubic yards of waste material at the site, the EPA announced Tuesday.
