Pediatrix To Pay $25M For Medicaid Overbilling

Law360, New York (September 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- National pediatric-services provider Pediatrix Medical Group Inc. has agreed to pay $25 million to settle allegations of Medicaid fraud and other charges, the U.S. Justice Department said Thursday.

The company, whose network of affiliated physician groups provides medical services in various hospital neonatal intensive care units in 32 states and Puerto Rico, faced charges of improper billing for neonatal care provided by its doctors.
