Muslim Workers Denied Class Status In Title VII Suit

Law360 (June 11, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has denied a bid for class status in a religious discrimination suit brought by former Muslim employees of electronics maker Celestica Corp., finding that individualized beliefs about prayer time and unique job circumstances preclude certification.

Judge Patrick J. Schiltz of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota on Wednesday handed down the order denying class certification for the group, which would have included 22 former production workers at Celestica's plant in Arden Hills, Minn.
