Bentley Slammed Over Stinky Car Discovery Abuse

Law360, New York (June 11, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bentley Motors Inc. will have to pay significantly more in damages in a case over a foul smelling car, now that a California appeals court has ruled that a trial judge erred in not imposing terminating sanctions for a litany of discovery abuses.

The ruling reverses a trial court decision and enters a judgment of default on fraud counts against Bentley in a case over a Bentley model with widespread “obnoxious odor” problems.
