Geico Seeks To Cut Chiropractors' Claims In Payments Suit

Law360 (July 6, 2018, 8:41 PM EDT) -- Geico asked a Florida federal judge Friday to issue a judgment against three claims in a chiropractic practice's putative class action accusing the insurer of systematically underpaying on personal injury protection coverage, noting the court sided with its position in a similar case.

The motion from Geico Indemnity Co. and Government Employees Insurance Co. addresses plaintiff Tower Health Center Inc.'s claims that it improperly applies reimbursement limits before applying automobile personal injury protection policyholders' deductibles, instead of subtracting the deductibles from the full amount the medical provider billed.
