Murphy Oil Settles EEOC Disability Discrimination Suit

Law360 (July 9, 2018, 6:14 PM EDT) -- Murphy Oil Co. USA Inc. has reached an agreement with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to pay $100,000 to settle allegations that it fired a gas station manager because of his disability, in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Murphy, which operates gas stations commonly found in Walmart parking lots, does not admit any wrongdoing in connection with the agreement, according to the consent decree filed on Friday. As of Monday afternoon, U.S. District Judge Alia Moses had not yet signed off on the consent decree, according to online court records.
