Google Refuses To Post Ruling On Belgian Site

Law360, New York (September 22, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Google Inc. balked Friday at a threat of hefty daily fines and refused a Belgian court’s order that it post on its Web site a judge’s ruling against it in a controversial copyright infringement case.

The company said it wasn’t necessary to post the document because the ruling, which forced the company to remove certain articles and photographs from its news service in the country, has already been widely covered in the press.
