By Tiffany Hu (July 18, 2018, 1:52 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission will investigate several companies, including Amazon.com Inc., Target Corp. and Walmart Inc., after a Michigan-based engine parts manufacturer accused them of selling products containing imported carburetors that infringe five of its patents, according to an announcement on Tuesday.
The ITC voted to launch an investigation into the products after receiving a complaint last month from Walbro LLC alleging that 35 producers and importers from the U.S. and China sold handheld carburetors used in small gasoline engines that purportedly infringe carburetor technology covered by the manufacturer's patents.
