Law360 (July 20, 2018, 3:35 PM EDT) -- On June 28, 2018, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services released a new policy memorandum regarding the initiation of removal (deportation) proceedings against noncitizens. Buried in the middle of the 11-page memorandum is a single sentence that relates to employment-based immigration: a new mandate that could result in the initiation of removal proceedings against employment-based nonimmigrants who fall out of status, even for a single day.
