Endo, Mallinckrodt Target Drug Dealers With Opioid Suit

Law360 (July 20, 2018, 6:20 PM EDT) -- Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Mallinckrodt LLC have launched a counterattack against a distinctive case that accuses them of fueling the opioid crisis, moving to shift any liability to drug dealers, "dark web" retailers and corrupt health care providers.

The drugmakers on Friday acknowledged filing a "third-party complaint" on July 16 as part of litigation brought last year by local attorneys general in Tennessee. The new complaint seeks to shift any liability imposed on Endo and Mallinckrodt to individuals and entities that have unlawfully sold prescription opioids and illicit narcotics.
