EPA Orders Texas To Revamp Citgo Refinery Permit

Law360, New York (June 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has ordered a Texas regulator to revise an air quality permit for a Citgo Petroleum Corp. refinery, partly siding with advocacy groups claiming the permit didn't mandate adequate monitoring of the facility's emissions.

On Monday, the EPA announced in the Federal Register that it has partly granted a citizen petition filed by advocacy groups including the Environmental Integrity Project, which asked the agency to object to the permit issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
