Calif. Hits Target With Suit Over Toxic Waste Disposal

Law360, New York (June 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Target Corp. has been slapped with a lawsuit by California state and local officials alleging that the retail giant illegally dumped thousands of pounds of toxic and corrosive chemicals into local landfills, putting public health at risk.

The lawsuit — filed Monday in the Superior Court of California, County of Alameda, by state Attorney General Edmund G.
