Cancer Suits Over Novartis Eczema Drug Remanded

Law360, New York (June 17, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A judge has remanded four cases alleging Novartis Pharmaceutical Corp.'s prescription eczema drug Elidel caused them to develop cancer, saying punitive damage claims aren't enough to keep a case in federal court.

In an order Monday, Judge Renee Marie Bumb of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey remanded the cases filed by Salvatore D'Anna, John W. Cummings, Dana Simi-Wilson and Joanne Kelley-Hodges to the Superior Court of New Jersey, Atlantic County.
