Dorsey Backs Out Of Airbiquity-AT&T Patent Dispute

Law360, New York (June 17, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After spending almost a year and a half as counsel for Airbiquity Inc. in a patent infringement suit against AT&T Inc., Dorsey & Whitney LLP is stepping down because of a conflict of interest.

Although the parties involved did not appear substantially related, the firm concluded that continuing to represent Airbiquity would be directly adverse to Apple Inc. and Motorola Inc., two of the firm’s long-standing clients, according to a motion filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
