Prestage Foods Hit With Donning, Doffing Action

Law360, New York (June 22, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Prestage Foods Co. Inc. has become the latest poultry processor to be hit with a putative collective action accusing the company of breaching the Fair Labor Standards Act by failing to pay workers for time spent donning and doffing job-related gear.

Two former Prestage workers filed a complaint Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina alleging the company willfully engaged in a policy of denying employees full compensation for all hours on the job.
