GM Creditors Fight Bid To Create Tort Committee

Law360, New York (June 23, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A group of more than 300 plaintiffs with personal injury claims against General Motors Corp. is facing opposition to its attempt to form an official committee of tort claimants in the auto giant's Chapter 11 case.

The official committee of unsecured creditors filed an objection Tuesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, saying it already has representatives on its committee to represent the interests of tort plaintiffs.
