Davis-Lynch Drops 1 Defendant In Drilling Patent Spat

Law360, New York (June 23, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Texas oil-field equipment company has dropped one defendant from its patent infringement suit accusing its perennial adversary Weatherford International LP and 10 other companies of infringing a drilling technology patent, as other defendants seek to dismiss the case as duplicative.

Judge Leonard Davis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas signed off on Davis-Lynch Inc.'s request to dismiss Tucker Energy Services USA Inc. from the case without prejudice.
