Trump Signs Bipartisan Bill Slashing Tariffs Through 2020

Law360 (September 14, 2018, 6:57 PM EDT) -- President Donald Trump signed legislation on Thursday that will slash a slew of tariffs on certain foreign goods that don’t pose a threat to domestic producers as part of a bipartisan effort to help U.S. manufacturers affordably import raw materials.

The bill, known as the Miscellaneous Tariff Bill Act of 2018, will cut duties through 2020 on nearly 1,700 items, including food byproducts and chemicals, and give a boost to manufacturers who rely on inexpensive imported components to make their goods.
