Obama FCC Nears Completion With 2 New Nominees

Law360 (June 26, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- President Barack Obama is nearing completion of his Federal Communications Commission panel, sending two new commissioner nominees to the U.S. Senate for approval, while receiving the Senate's thumbs-up on his pick for FCC chief and another term for current Commissioner Robert McDowell.

Obama on Thursday announced the official nomination of Republican Meredith Attwell Baker, currently acting assistant secretary of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, to fill out resigned Commissioner Kevin J. Martin's term until June 30, 2011.
