Judge: Halliburton Not Liable For Iraq Overtime Claims

Law360, New York (September 28, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge in Texas has dealt a blow to the plaintiffs in a proposed class action against Halliburton Co. which alleged that it didn’t adequately compensate employees for overtime hours worked in Iraq and Kuwait.

U.S. District Judge Melinda Harmon unequivocally struck down two of the three causes of action that formed the basis for the lawsuit, saying that the plaintiffs hadn’t stated claims on which relief could be granted.
