Stanford Calls On Judge To Rethink Detention Order

Law360, New York (July 7, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Billionaire financier and alleged fraudster Robert Allen Stanford has urged a judge to reconsider an order revoking bail and leaving him behind bars awaiting trial on charges he cheated investors out of $7 billion in a massive Ponzi scheme.

Stanford filed a 48-page motion in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas on Monday asking Judge David Hittner to rethink the detention order that has kept him in jail since his arrest in Virginia on June 18.
