Green Groups Attack Bush-Era Energy Corridor Plan

Law360, New York (July 10, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Colorado county and 14 environmental groups have sued the U.S. government in an effort to stop a Western energy corridor designated during the Bush administration, arguing that the plan ignores renewable energy goals and threatens already-imperiled animal species.

In the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Tuesday, the Sierra Club and other wildlife advocates accused several federal agencies of violating federal laws including the National Environmental Policy Act when they designated the energy corridor in 11 Western states.
