French Oil Giant In East Texas Showdown

Law360 (October 2, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two subsidiaries of a French oil and gas giant are suing the U.S. branch of a German automotive vibration control company for infringing a patent covering engine mounts used in Ford Motor Co.’s Explorer SUVs.

The lawsuit—filed Friday in federal court in Texas—was brought on behalf of Paulstra CRC Corp. and parent company Hutchinson S.A. and names Vibracoustic North America LP as the defendant.

At issue is U.S. Patent Number 6,361,030, which covers an anti-vibration engine mount. Hutchinson owns the patent; Paulstra is the exclusive licensee....
