Japan Fines Panasonic Unit In Price-Fixing Probe

Law360, New York (July 13, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Japan's Fair Trade Commission has reportedly chosen to levy several billion yen in fines against a unit of Panasonic Corp. and other foreign companies for their alleged involvement in an international cartel that conspired to fix prices for cathode-ray tubes in televisions.

The Japanese FTC fined Panasonic subsidiary MT Picture Display Co., Samsung SDI Co. of South Korea, and others for fixing prices of CRTs from about 2005, Kyodo News International reported Monday.
