JPMorgan Accountants Seek OT Class Status

Law360, New York (July 15, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Stepping up a challenge to JPMorgan Chase & Co., two former employees alleging the bank fails to pay its hedge fund accountants overtime have filed for class certification under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state labor laws.

On Tuesday, plaintiffs urged Judge Janet C. Hall of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut to approve a nationwide class of fund accountants, clearing the way for hundreds of JPMorgan employees to seek compensation for the bank’s alleged wage-and-hour violations.
