Amazon Kindle Covers Cause Breakage, Suit Claims

Law360, New York (July 16, 2009, 3:15 PM EDT) -- LLC is facing a proposed class action from a disgruntled Kindle owner who claims the leather cover he purchased to protect the electronic reader has actually cracked the device and caused it to stop working.

The suit, filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, claims Amazon refused to repair lead plaintiff Matthew Geise's Kindle under the terms of the warranty and tried to charge him $200 for a refurbished replacement product.
