Most BofA Mini Visa Card Patent Claims Invalidated

Law360, New York (July 17, 2009, 4:15 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences has invalidated most claims of a patent held by Bank of America Corp. for its Mini Visa Card, identification card manufacturer Vanguard ID Systems Inc. announced.

The USPTO board invalidated 51 claims of the 57-claim patent granted by the office in 2002 to Bank of America for its Mini Visa Card, said Vanguard, which challenged the patents, in a press release Thursday.
