Relief From the H-2B Visa Cap
Republican Sen. John Thune of South Dakota introduced a bill on Tuesday to prioritize states with low unemployment rates for allocation of H-2B temporary non-agricultural worker visas. The current annual statutory cap is 66,000 H-2B visas nationwide.
States with unemployment rates of at most 3.5 percent would be able to seek an additional 2,500 H-2B visas that are not subject to the statutory cap....
