Mesaba Unions Offer Wage Concessions

Law360 (October 4, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a last-ditch attempt to settle their contract disputes, three of the main labor unions at Mesaba Airlines Inc. have offered wage and benefit cuts that would reduce labor expenses by 15% and possibly save the airline from liquidation.

The unions and Mesaba are set to meet in court next week to settle their contract dispute.

Mesaba had previously requested a 19.4% pay cut that would last six years, but has reportedly gone down to a 17.5% reduction that would last four to five-and-a-half years....
