FCC Dem Pings DOJ On Sprint-T-Mobile Spectrum Holdings

Law360 (January 22, 2019, 8:38 PM EST) -- The Federal Communications Commission's sole active Democrat has queried the U.S. Department of Justice over whether the proposed Sprint-T-Mobile tie-up would allow a single entity to control too much of the airwaves.

At the end of a Washington, D.C., panel event on Tuesday, FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel stated that she asked for more information because she is concerned the transaction between two top carriers would concentrate mobile spectrum licenses, but she noted that both the FCC and DOJ are not currently reviewing the deal due to the government shutdown.
