Goldman Sachs Added To Fannie Mae Suits

Law360, New York (October 4, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Investment bank Goldman Sachs & Co. Wednesday became a defendant in an amended complaint filed over accounting practices at government-sponsored mortgage giant Fannie Mae.

The litigation over certain Fannie Mae-sponsored bond deals that Goldman Sachs allegedly arranged now includes the New York bank. The deals relate to real estate mortgage investment conduits, which are bonds collateralized with mortgage-backed securities.
