Law360 (January 23, 2019, 9:31 PM EST) -- Seven retired federal judges, including ex-Seventh Circuit Judge Richard Posner, told the Federal Circuit that the Public Access to Court Electronic Records system should be free, according to an amicus brief filed Wednesday in an appeal over a class action challenging the government's fees.
Former Texas, New York and Massachusetts federal judges joined Judge Posner in arguing that the economics of electronic information make it easy to allow the information to be accessed for free.
