Medtronic Unit Gets $2M In Spine Surgery Patent Suit

Law360, New York (July 20, 2009, 6:07 PM EDT) -- Only one of the four Medtronic Inc. subsidiaries that sued Globus Medical Inc. over patents related to spinal surgery had standing to bring the suit, a judge has ruled following a jury verdict that Globus is liable for infringement. She awarded the single unit, Warsaw Orthopedic Inc., $2.1 million in damages.
