Expert Testimony For Exxon, NYC Pared In MTBE Suit

Law360, New York (July 22, 2009, 4:21 PM EDT) -- In a case claiming a controversial fuel additive has contaminated New York City groundwater, a federal judge has pared the testimony of witnesses from both the city and Exxon Mobil Corp. to bar the experts from opining on legal issues.

Judge Shira A. Scheindlin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York granted in part and denied in part Exxon and New York City's motions to exclude expert witness testimony in a 58-page order issued Tuesday.
