4th Circ. Partly Reverses Qui Tam Suit V. Accenture

Law360, New York (July 23, 2009, 10:03 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has partially reversed a ruling in a whistleblower suit accusing Accenture LLP of shortchanging the government, affirming the dismissal of the relator's fraud claim against the company but finding that his retaliation claim met the lower pleading standard.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit handed down the opinion Wednesday, reversing the dismissal of qui tam relator Peter Elms' retaliation claim and remanding it to the district court for reconsideration.
