Crocs Wins Atty Fees Sanction Against Rival In IP Dispute
By Dave Simpson (February 12, 2019, 7:17 PM EST) -- A Nevada federal judge has awarded Crocs Inc. $12,219.01 in attorneys' fees as a sanction against USA Dawgs Inc. and Double Diamond Distribution Ltd., finding that some of the latter companies' filings in a long-running intellectual property dispute were made in bad faith.
U.S. District Judge James C. Mahan said the court had previously determined that sanctions were in order in the case but needed only to review Crocs' lodestar calculation of the attorneys' fees it thought it deserved. In his Monday order, he agreed with their assessment.
