Manafort Voided Plea Deal By Lying To Mueller, Judge Rules
Law360 (February 13, 2019, 11:47 PM EST) -- Former Donald Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort lied to Special Counsel Robert Mueller and other federal investigators, violating a plea deal he signed last year promising to truthfully assist authorities, a D.C. federal judge ruled Wednesday.
U.S. District Judge Amy B. Jackson said the government adequately proved that Manafort knowingly made false statements to investigators from Mueller's team and the FBI, as well as a grand jury, after pleading guilty last year to federal conspiracy and obstruction of justice charges.
