LA Probation Officer Seeks Conditional Cert. In OT Suit

Law360, New York (July 24, 2009, 1:30 PM EDT) -- A Los Angeles County deputy probation officer has asked a judge to conditionally certify a collective action accusing the county of overworking officers in its placement division while systematically refusing to pay them overtime wages.

Timothy Bentley — who has spent 16 years with the Los Angeles County Probation Department — lodged the certification motion Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
