Insurer Seeks To Rescind Policies Issued To Fla. Firms

Law360, New York (July 24, 2009, 2:17 PM EDT) -- The Continental Casualty Co. has filed suit against two Florida law firms, seeking to rescind two policies because, it claims, attorneys at the firms canceled a policy with lower limits and obtained policies with higher limits without telling the insurer they faced professional liability claims.

The Illinois-based insurer's lawsuit, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, seeks a judgment that it is entitled to rescind the policies and recover costs already paid to the Coral Gables-based Florin Law Group PA...
