$10M Wins Upheld For Distributors In Contract Fight
Law360 (February 21, 2019, 9:50 PM EST) -- The Idaho Supreme Court this week affirmed two distributors’ victories on claims that Safeguard Business Systems violated their deals by selling directly to their protected customers, issuing separate rulings upholding a $6 million jury verdict and a $4.3 million arbitration award.
In both a 25-page ruling issued Tuesday and a 26-page ruling issued Thursday, the five-member Idaho court unanimously denied appeals by Safeguard and affirmed the judgments won by T3 Enterprises Inc. and Thurston Enterprises Inc. T3 and Thurston had each alleged breaches of their distributorship agreement with Safeguard, which sells office supplies and printing and marketing services to small businesses...
