FTC Urged To Make Google Spin Off Nest After Privacy Flap

By Allison Grande (February 21, 2019, 10:16 PM EST) -- Google should be required to divest the Nest security business it acquired for $3.2 billion five years ago in the wake of new revelations the tech giant failed to tell consumers about a hidden microphone in the Nest Secure alarm system, a privacy group told the Federal Trade Commission Wednesday.
